Before dawn had fully released the plains of Amboseli, I stood alone with Craig, Africa’s legendary super tusker. The snow-capped Kilimanjaro loomed behind us, low clouds resting just beneath the peak, as the first rays of sunlight brushed the earth. Craig moved with a calm certainty, his massive tusks catching the gentle light, trunk grazing the grass, eyes serene and wise. Behind him, two other bulls lingered in the soft shadows, and the world seemed to hold its breath.
It was a rare morning of pure presence—the silence of the plains broken only by the whisper of dawn. The wide-angle lens allowed him to remain just a few meters away, yet fully at ease, a true testament to his gentle spirit.
