Limited Editions

Small bodies of work, each built around a single idea rather than a single photograph. Every trilogy is a limited edition, individually signed and numbered.

Registered with Hahnemühle My Art Registry

Each limited edition artwork is registered with Hahnemühle My Art Registry , providing collectors with an additional digital record of the artwork and its edition.

ANCIENTS | A Trilogy

A Limited Edition

ANCIENTS | A Trilogy

A small body of work exploring age, solitude and the passage of time. An ancient elephant. A weathered black rhino. A camelthorn preserved for centuries in the silence of Deadvlei. Three subjects, each carrying the quiet weight of time.

THE REMAINS | A Trilogy

A Limited Edition

A small body of work exploring what remains after movement, purpose and life have begun to fade. A raptor caught between stillness and flight. A field carrying the marks of human hands. An ancient quiver tree that seems to hold something of a life within it.

KUKUA | A Trilogy

A Limited Edition

Three young lives from Kenya, each already showing the beginnings of what they will become. A leopard with an adult's instincts. A lion just growing into his mane. An elephant carrying the bearing of the bull he'll one day be.

THE TRILOGY

Why I Create Limited Edition Trilogies

Very few of the photographs I create become limited editions. Even fewer become part of a trilogy.

A trilogy begins with a connection between photographs that may have been made years or thousands of kilometres apart. They are brought together because, when seen beside one another, they reveal a deeper idea that each photograph carries on its own.

Each trilogy is deliberately small. Three photographs, one underlying idea, and a limited number of prints released to collectors.

Every print is individually signed and numbered, and each trilogy is accompanied by one Artist's Proof that remains in my personal collection.

Once the edition is complete, it is permanently closed and will never be reproduced.

More Than Three Photographs

The intention is not simply to place three photographs together. Each trilogy is a small body of work with its own character, language and story.

The Remains explores what stays behind after movement, purpose and life begin to fade.

Kukua brings together three young lives in Kenya, each caught somewhere between what they are now and what they will become.

The photographs are individual works, but together they become something larger than any one of them could express alone.

Each trilogy is therefore both a collection of photographs and a record of an idea, created in a deliberately limited form for collectors.

A Lifetime in the Field

For more than two decades, I've photographed the wild places of Southern and East Africa, creating black and white wildlife photographs shaped by patience, observation and a deep respect for the natural world.
