Nine Oryx gather at the edge of Etosha Pan, slowly making their way from a waterhole towards the red dunes. One stands apart, its long, sharply pointed horns rising against the shimmering white expanse. In the heat haze, the landscape becomes almost dreamlike, and for a moment the animal seems to belong to another world. It was this fleeting encounter that inspired the name, The Unicorn of the Great White Place.
