What drew me to this moment was not speed or drama, but quiet strength. The stillness before movement. The unspoken bond between brothers learning to navigate a world that asks everything of them.

A Final Moment Before Parting

This video captures the brothers just after the portrait was taken—the last moment I ever saw them together. Shortly after, they crossed into Tanzania. Rafiki disappeared, and only Ruka returned to the Mara alone. This portrait now stands as a timeless testament to their bond, frozen in time just before their paths diverged forever.
