A Final Glimpse of Grace
This rare footage, captured just days before Salayexe's passing,

shows her in her prime—a powerful, living testament to her enduring spirit.

It is this very essence of life, resilience, and wild grace that I sought to capture in my photograph, freezing a moment of her legend forever.

Into the Wild — Leopard on the Prowl | The Story

There are photographs you admire. And then there are the ones that stay with you. This is that image for me.

Anyone who has spent time photographing leopards knows how elusive truly unique moments can be. We often see them resting in trees, climbing through branches, or caught in intimate close-up portraits. But this was different.

To witness a leopard walking with such purpose across the great limb of a marula tree felt like a true bucket-list moment. Everything aligned in a way that rarely happens in wildlife photography. No branches obscuring the face. One raised paw, carrying just enough motion to suggest movement. The eyes sharp, focused, completely present.

What I love most is the composition. The great curve of the branch guides the eye naturally through the frame, while the surrounding autumn leaves create a quiet sense of enclosure, almost like nature itself has framed the moment.

For me, this photograph captures what makes leopards so endlessly captivating: grace, power, mystery, and the feeling that they are always moving between worlds, seen and unseen.

Still my favourite leopard photograph.

Collector Stories

Reflections from collectors who have welcomed Peter Delaney's artwork into their homes around the world.

"

After some delay, I finally had 'Bonds of Love' framed and placed on my bedroom wall, a gift from my husband for our 50th wedding anniversary. He passed away not long after, and two years on, this photograph continues to comfort me. It is the first thing I see every morning, and it gladdens my heart.

This is not a photograph hanging on a wall. It is a window into something vast and unhurried.
