"Size selected is the final paper size with a white border. Final dimensions may vary slightly to preserve the original image ratio."

Known as the Tree of Life, the baobab is Africa's great survivor — a symbol of resilience, spiritual energy, and the enduring soul of the wild. I discovered this solitary giant standing sentinel in a parched land, its ancient bark a living map of centuries.

This project began with a quest to document Africa's grandest life forms: the iconic baobab and the legendary elephant tusker. In this tree, I found both — the strength of a tusker, and the timeless wisdom of the megaflora.

Printed, signed and shipped by Peter in South Africa on museum-grade archival fine art paper — smooth cotton rag.

✓ White border, hand-signed by Peter Delaney
✓ Hand-signed Certificate of Authenticity
✓ Backstory of the print, signed by the artist

Into the Wild — Ancient One | The Story

Close your eyes. Now open them. You are here.

Standing alone in the vast wilderness of Northern Kruger, South Africa, it appeared almost timeless.

A baobab tree. Africa's Tree of Life.

For centuries, these ancient giants have stood as silent witnesses to the changing world around them. Revered across Africa, they are surrounded by stories of ancestral spirits, hidden wisdom, and the belief that they carry a life force of their own.

This particular tree stopped me in my tracks.

Its twisted branches, weathered bark, and immense presence told a story written over generations. Scars left by elephants seeking moisture beneath its bark added another chapter to its journey.

There was no movement. No sound.

Only the quiet power of a living monument that has endured drought, storms, and the passing of time.

In the soft light of dawn, I wanted to capture more than a tree.

I wanted to capture resilience.

A symbol of survival. A connection between nature, history, and the mysteries that have shaped Africa for centuries.

For a moment, I wasn't photographing a baobab.

I was standing in the presence of an ancient one.

Collector Stories

Reflections from collectors who have welcomed Peter Delaney's artwork into their homes around the world.

"

After some delay, I finally had 'Bonds of Love' framed and placed on my bedroom wall, a gift from my husband for our 50th wedding anniversary. He passed away not long after, and two years on, this photograph continues to comfort me. It is the first thing I see every morning, and it gladdens my heart.

— Sally, Johannesburg

"

This is not a photograph hanging on a wall. It is a window into something vast and unhurried.

Queen of the Mara has occupied a central place in our living room since 2020. It helped us feel connected to the world at a time when we... weren't.
