Bonds of Love

Bonds of Love

Immerse yourself in the profound beauty of Africa through photographs that celebrate the grace, strength, and emotional depth of its wildlife.

Observing elephants in the wild is a deeply moving experience—one that reveals their unbreakable bonds, tender affection, and fierce protectiveness.

These majestic creatures embody family. When danger approaches, the herd unites with loud trumpeting and flapping ears, forming an impenetrable shield around their young. I once witnessed a heart-stopping moment when a bull elephant tried to separate a newborn from its mother. The calf’s distressed cries brought the herd charging to its defence, surrounding it in a cocoon of trunks and dust. A raw, wordless act of love.

This moment is personal to me. My wife and our baby were beside me, deeply moved yet shaken by the scene. Just as we were about to leave, I caught sight of the herd in my rearview mirror—encircling the newborn in quiet unity. I turned the car around and captured one frame. That single image, Bonds of Love, remains a testament to the strength and tenderness that define elephant families.

Peter’s beautiful work is truly epic, as though he has other-worldly connections! I own one of his works (Bonds Of Love) and every day I pause to take it in again - bringing me such joy.

To have one of his images in your home is your connection to a world few of us will ever experience and a connection to nature and the earth that is truly rare.
