Craig, one of Africa’s last great super tuskers, passed away on 3 January 2026 of natural causes at the age of 54. With ground-sweeping tusks and a calm, commanding presence, he became a global symbol of successful conservation. This print captures his dignity and monumental presence, preserved forever as a tribute.
“For those who understand that true legacy outlives the moment.”
Tuskers Icons of Africa
Across Africa’s sun-scorched plains, riverbeds, and salt pans, few creatures command reverence like the tuskers. These rare bull elephants, with tusks often exceeding 100 pounds each, embody age, strength, and ancestral majesty. They are physical giants and spiritual anchors—guardians of memory, endurance, and the wild’s deepest rhythms.
Men often tell me:
“He reminds me of my father.”
“There’s something in his silence I recognise in myself.”
“I want my son to grow up with that kind of strength.”
Women say:
“He is my husband, my brother, my protector.”
“There’s such peace in his gaze.”
“He walks like he’s seen everything—and survived it.”
Tuskers speak to something primal in all of us—the call to endure, to lead without domination, to age with honour

The Journey Begins
Young Tusker | Amboseli
A Portrait of Heritage and Quiet Majesty
An Amboseli tusker of rare lineage, his tusks curve in perfect symmetry like ancient blades shaped by time. His skin holds a labyrinth of lines and textures, each etched by decades of survival. As he stepped past me, trunk brushing the earth, his calm eye and long lashes revealed a presence both ancient and assured. This intimate portrait captures not just an elephant, but a living heir to one of Africa’s most revered bloodlines.

The Riverbed Ritual | Shingwedzi Tuskers
From a high bank of the Shingwedzi River, I watched two tusker brothers unlock the earth’s hidden water. First Nkuma, “The One of the Earth,” dark, monumental, grounded. Then N’wati, “The One of the Sun,” lighter, a creature of dust and light. Pausing together, as if by unspoken agreement, they turned toward me—a silent communion.
“For those who long to be in the presence of kings.”

Nkuma (The One of the Earth) | Shingwedzi
A timeless piece of African wildlife art for collectors who honour strength in stillness.
Nkuma (The One of the Earth) | Shingwedzi
Nkuma emerges from the riverbed, his skin a dark, gleaming tapestry of wet earth and water. He is the anchor, "The One of the Earth," grounded and immense. Having just anointed himself in the cool, life-giving water he unearthed, he carries the very essence of the Shingwedzi with him. His scimitar tusks, thick and strong, speak of countless seasons and his role as a pillar of this ancient land. This portrait captures his monumental presence at the summit, a giant momentarily paused in his eternal journey.
For those who seek the quiet strength that anchors the world."

N’wati (The One of the Sun) | Shingwedzi
Light and Legacy in the Sand
N'wati (The One of the Sun)
N'wati, "The One of the Sun," is cloaked in the fine, pale dust of the dry riverbed. His lighter hide glows with the memory of the sun, a stark and beautiful contrast to his brother. He is the other half of the whole, a creature of the air and dust, equally powerful but marked by a different element. Standing just feet away, his own impressive tusks sweep gracefully, a testament to the untamed elegance of Africa's megafauna. Together, they are "Mintlangu," a bonded pair that embodies the soul of the wild.
"For souls calmed by the light and warmed by the dust of wild places."

Kambaku – The Pillar of the Mara
“Kambaku,” meaning Great Tusker, emerged silently from the savannah in the Mara Triangle. Towering above the 4x4, his quiet, gentle steps conveyed an immense presence. The print captures the fleeting encounter, the elegance of his scale, and the stillness of his world.
"For the collector who recognises that the most powerful statements are made in silence."

Tuskers Of Africa
Bring The Wild Home
Why Tuskers Matter
These elephants are not just survivors—they are sculptors of the land, shaping waterholes, dispersing seeds, and carrying the wisdom of generations. They are vulnerable, yet resilient. Craig’s passing from natural causes reminds us that survival in the wild is a triumph, and his legacy stands as a symbol of hope for Africa’s remaining giants.
