The Serene Journey Unfolds

This footage captures the same tower of giraffes moments after the "Camelopard" portrait, gracefully walking and feeding across the storm-washed savanna. Watch their peaceful journey unfold against the vast, cloud-filled sky—the living story of solitude and movement that connects both fine art prints

Why Camelopard Never Leaves Me

There are photographs I'm proud of, and then there are those I simply love. Camelopard is one of the rare few that is both.

At first glance, it is disarmingly simple. A lone giraffe beneath an umbrella thorn. Soft clouds drifting across an endless African sky. Long grass moving gently in the wind. There is no drama, no spectacle, no attempt to command attention.

Perhaps that's exactly why it has never left me.

The giraffe reaches quietly for the last leaves of the tree, completely unaware of my presence. Nothing is forced. Nothing feels arranged. It is simply a fleeting moment of harmony between an animal and the landscape it calls home.

Over the years I have photographed extraordinary encounters across Africa. Charging elephants, hunting lions, intimate portraits of chimpanzees, and moments that have gone on to receive international recognition. Yet I find myself returning to Camelopard more than almost any other photograph.

For me, the greatest photographs are not always the loudest. They don't demand your attention. They invite you in. They ask you to slow down, to breathe a little deeper, and to simply be present.

When I look at Camelopard, I remember standing in that sea of grass, watching the wind move across the landscape as if the earth itself was breathing. I remember the quiet. The space. The feeling that, for a few precious moments, everything was exactly as it should be.

I am often asked which photograph is my favourite. It's an impossible question. Every print carries a story, a memory, a piece of the journey that brought me here.

But if you asked me which photograph I would choose to live with, the one I'd happily wake up to every morning for the rest of my life, my answer would always be the same.

Camelopard.

Because some photographs never stop speaking to you.
They simply whisper more softly with time.

Collector Stories

Reflections from collectors who have welcomed Peter Delaney's artwork into their homes around the world.

"

After some delay, I finally had 'Bonds of Love' framed and placed on my bedroom wall, a gift from my husband for our 50th wedding anniversary. He passed away not long after, and two years on, this photograph continues to comfort me. It is the first thing I see every morning, and it gladdens my heart.

This is not a photograph hanging on a wall. It is a window into something vast and unhurried.

Queen of the Mara has occupied a central place in our living room since 2020. It helped us feel connected to the world at a time when we... weren't.
