I like a few photographs of the leopard, but this is my favourite. Any photographer who has had the good fortune to photograph leopards understands how difficult it is to capture something unique.
The most common leopard photos are of leopards sitting in trees, climbing trees, or in close-up portraits.
It was a bucket-list moment to see this leopard walking across a massive branch of a marula tree (I believe). The perspective or angle is perfect, with no branches in the way of the face, and a raised paw with a little blur to show movement, but the head is nice and sharp and in focus. The branches form a beautiful frame around the leopard, and the massive branch takes the viewer's eye out of the frame. The autumnal leaves on the sides create a natural vignette and texture and pull the eye towards the subject.
